The Truthbrush is a beautifully designed ergonomic, bio-degradeable toothbrush. Bamboo has natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties so it’s hygienic too. We’re only selling the medium bristles as this is recommended by dentists. The bristles are made from Nylon (which of course is plastic), however the only alternative is boar bristles which would make it unsuitable for vegans. Before disposing of your Truthbrush just pull the bristles out with pliers. If this sounds like a hassle consider that on average we use 4 toothbrushes per year, that means potentially ¼ billion plastic toothbrushes per year are thrown away. They don’t get recycled and will remain on this planet for 100’s of years.
Environment & Ethics
The bamboo comes from a FSC sustainable forest in China and it’s Moso Bamboo which is inedible to Pandas.
These brushes are made in China, the natural habitat of bamboo. Clearly this has a carbon impact so Truthbrush have chosen to carbon offset shipping.
