Over consumption has fuelled the plastic problem
An interesting article in the Guardian which illustrates that recycling is not the solution to our plastic problem. Over consumption has fuelled this problem and we are all complicit in this excessive consumerism that is stripping our planet of its precious assets. It's a harsh reality that we need to face into so its encouraging to have received so much positivity in such a short space of time from people eager to bring about change. We CAN make a difference by making these small changes but we should also call out the big businesses that are producing all of this consumer packaging and make them more responsible for managing the waste they produce. Misinformation is also a big problem and its not helpful if the government are telling us that 46% of plastic is recycled, when in fact what they meant was 46% is getting collected for recycling.
